Sartomer Company has opened a new laboratory in Exton, PA, expanding the company’s lab space by 25%. The new facility will be utilized for product synthesis, applications development and analytical support functions for all of Sartomer’s product lines. It will also accommodate the company’s recent addition of 165 laboratory personnel.
“With the addition of our specialty polymers group, plus the increased market demand for specialty chemicals, lab space was at a premium,” said Gary Ceska, vice president, technology for Sartomer. “Now we can comfortably expand our specialty polymers capabilities in terms of synthesis and applications. The lab also provides the space we need to accommodate growth outside of the UV/EB arena to markets including inks, powder coatings, concrete polymers, rubber, wire and cable, as well as oil field applications.” The new facility features an analytical services instrument room and a polymer laboratory, adding anionic polymerization technology to Sartomer’s list of capabilities.
